Chapter 4

After running to earth from Michael you wondered trying to get yourself a new identity including absorbing the human’s pop culture. Michael eventually gave up the search when he was certain you wouldn’t return to heaven and proceeded to spread the word that Lucifer had betrayed heaven by trying to rally a riot against humans. You were deemed a traitor to be killed on sight should you be found while the prophecy was eventually put in to motion that eventually the seals were to be broken to Lucifer’s cage to allow him to rise so as Michael could be triumphant against him, saving the world to so as every one could go to paradise. You adapted to the humans lifestyle as it progressed over the years, your heart broken but not defeated as you tried to find away to free Lucifer from his cage with only Gabriel and Balthazar in heaven to let you know what was going on that is until Gabriel left and Balthazar died in the wars. You were all alone in the world now searching for a way to free your mate from his undeserved fate that is until the Winchesters showed up. The brotherly duo were becoming quite the talk of the paranormal realm as they began to rise in the ranks of power so you started keeping an eye on them, which was one of your best ideas yet cause in the process you found your brother Gabriel who agreed to help you but that his cover was to remain intact as the pagan god Loki. The next event that occurred was you managed to find your younger brother Castiel who had just been a fledgling when Lucifer fell in to the pit leading to you leaving as well but he’d been brain washed by Michael meaning that showing yourself to him was not conducive to your survival.

Years passed with the Winchester’s solving one problem at a time until Lilith appeared, a demon you recognized from the past as being one of the first. Demons defended Lucifer cause they saw him as their king only cause they feared him but Lucifer used them so as to protect himself from Michael. Lilith was breaking his cage seals with the help of the angels more then likely having been ordered to do so by Michael who couldn’t wait for an excuse to finish what he’d started on his little brother. The Winchesters were trying to stop Lucifer from rising so to make sure it did happen you “accidentally” bumped into them then convinced them to let you work with them, keeping your identity a secret of course. The Winchesters were desperate especially Dean seeing as his brother was running around with Ruby the demon whore drinking her blood to make him stronger when in reality it was killing him slowly as well as prepping him for Lucifer. You knew Sam was to be Lucifer’s vessel while Dean was to be Michaels but you didn’t care…at first however over time the brother’s started to grow on you making you feel like part of the family so with the moment of truth here, Lilith’s blood on the ground opening the gate with Lucifer bursting from it you used your angelic abilities to transport the brothers out of harms way.

You had found another vessel for Lucifer to take and when he did you could hardly wait to see him. You entered the house moments after Lucifer too the vessel of Nick to see him sitting on the bed where Nick had been sitting before only you could tell immediately that it was Lucifer. You walked up behind Lucifer with a smile on your face as you could see his grace shining brightly as it always had to the point it felt like a dream.

“Lucifer?” You asked approaching cautiously

“Y/N? Is it really you?” Lucifer asked not turning around

“Yes, I’ve been looking for you, for a way to get you out” You explained coming up beside him.

“All this time you were looking for a way to save me?” Lucifer asked still not meeting your gaze.

“Yes, I wanted to…” You began but were cut off when Lucifer suddenly rose from the bed to pull you into a hug. You returned the gesture as his warmth coiled around you for the first time in decades making it that you never wanted to let him go.

“I missed you, Y/N…I missed you so much” Lucifer stated holding you so close as he inhaled the scent from your hair deeply with you doing the same to his chest.

“I missed you too,” You told him

The two of you stayed like that for what seemed like forever then you felt yourself being turned around until the backs of your knees hit the bed knocking you onto your back while Lucifer landed on top of you. Lucifer pressed desperate, heated kisses to your neck, collar bone and jaw line it was clear that after a so long in the pit away from you had stirred him causing him to immediately place himself between your legs while capturing your lips in a deep kiss, which to be honest you were far too desperate yourself to resist. After so long apart you rekindled your bond with Lucifer proving that love could out last anything no matter who or what you were leaving you both sated and happier then ever but it couldn’t last after all you had questions. Lucifer explained that the whole apocalypse had to happen cause he needed to protect himself from Michael till he could finally defeat him in Sam’s body, which he could tell immediately displeased you.

“What is it?” Lucifer asked you in concern

“Well it’s just that…I kind of like the Winchesters…they’re my friends” You explained while drawing lazy patterns on Lucifer’s bare chest.

“I wish it could be different but…” Lucifer began until you cut him off

“It can be! I’m here now and I can protect you even help you defeat Michael!” You insisted locking eyes with him.

“I would never ask for such a thing from you and even if that is how it would happen do you really think the Winchesters would let me live?” Lucifer asked you

“It doesn’t matter! I swore to never let Michael touch you ever again and that is something I intend to see threw!” You barked as you pushed yourself up on one arm. Lucifer was stunned at your sudden harsh tone one in which he’d never heard from you before.

“But I…”Lucifer began

“No buts!!! I will protect you and I will save the Winchesters!” You cut Lucifer off with determination in your crystal eyes. Lucifer stared at you with absolute shock then smiled while averting his gaze with a slight chuckle from deep in his chest. Not even Gabriel had the gal to speak to him in such a manner indicating just how much you’d changed but it only made him love you more.

“Very well then I shall let you try” Lucifer permitted as he planted a kiss on your lips.

You’d finally gotten Lucifer to agree with your plan to protect him but now came the harder part convincing the Winchesters to join you and Lucifer in saving the world. You left Lucifer’s side only just long enough to meet with the boys for a little chat on the subject but it didn’t go over too well, after revealing that you were an angel they were immediately defensive but really who could blame them after everything. Cas especially didn’t trust you cause he remembered your name from an alert put out to kill you due to the fact that you had joined Lucifer in his rebellion.

“Look please just hear me out,” You pleaded with them

“Fine start talking” Dean barked

“Okay everything is not what you think, I don’t want to see the end of the world and neither does Lucifer” You began to explain

“Oh yeah right! That’s why Lucifer is trying to destroy our planet little by little,” Sam asked unbelievingly.

“He’s not! Lucifer is only protecting himself from our dick of a brother Michael!” You barked after loosing it.

“How the hell would you know?” Dean asked eyeing you suspiciously that’s when you realized the mistake you just made.

“Because…I may be…Lucifer’s mate” You finally spat out.

“Come again” Dean said furrowing his brow at you

“Me and Lucifer bonded before he fell” You explained as both brothers gave you disapproving looks just as those in heaven had.

“Yeah well your ma…wait but your both dudes” Dean trailed off in confusion

“It isn’t important if you love someone then you love them for who they are” You said in defense to Lucifer.

“Okay whatever, your mate is off roasting the planet alive” Dean retorted

“No, what really happened is not what you think and I am hear to get your help. I need your help…we need your help” You pleaded

“We? As in Lucifer and you?” Sam asked

“Yes, I’m here on his behalf…he’s not what you think” You said lowering your head to your chest.

“Then what’s he like? What’s the truth?” Sam asked insistently

“Come with me and we’ll explain it,” You said

“You’ll take us to Lucifer?” Sam asked in surprise-shock.

“Only if you promise not to hurt him then yes,” You told them

“Give us a moment” Dean stated as he pulled Sam aside to speak with him

“What do you think?” Dean asked in a whisper

“I don’t think he’s lying but what in the world is all this about?” Sam wondered as questions swirled in his mind.

“Maybe we should go then, you know get some answers” Dean suggested

“I don’t know Dean it could be a trap,” Sam said

“You said yourself he isn’t lying and if nothing else we have the colt to take care of them both if everything goes south,” Dean told Sam with insistence

“Alright” Sam finally agreed

“Alright we’ll go with you” Dean told you after Sam and him were done speaking with one another.

You smiled with hope that this was the beginning of the end for all the crap you’d and Lucifer had suffered.
