It was possibly the strangest situation that Sam had ever found himself in and that is saying a lot considering how much 'weird' the Winchesters had dealt with all their lives. Cas stood in front of Sam practically drowning in tears not to mention pregnant as the day is long, Sam had heard that angel's could get pregnant even if their inhabiting a male vessel and he'd also heard that Cas was expecting but what caught him off guard was the reason the angel was crying. Sam listened to the angel's sobs that clearly told him that Dean had left Cas as in broke up with him thus leaving the scared, pregnant angel all alone to deal with Dean's baby by his lonesome. Sam knew Dean pretty well or at least he used too several years ago any how before they decided to settle down after every thing calmed down, Dean went with Cas and Sam went with Gabriel to start their lives but he didn't think that Dean was capable of just abandoning Cas especially being as pregnant as he was. All in all Sam was now faced with a dilemma Cas was on his door step deliriously sobbing, Dean was no where in sight and Gabriel had gone to heaven to continue cleaning up the mess that had been left behind meaning Sam was on his own with the pregnant angel.

"Come on in Cas, let's get you calmed down" Sam offered waving a hand inside the door to the home he shared with Gabriel.

"Thank...you, Sam..." Cas sniffled as he went inside

"I'm going to get you some mild tea so make yourself comfortable in the living area" Sam insisted as he shut the front door then made his way into the kitchen. Cas gave a sad nod before making his way into the living area where he managed to sit down on the couch, leaning back in exhaustion while rubbing his swollen belly. Sam came in a few minutes later carrying a mug that was steaming with two small strings hanging out of the side for the tea bags.

"So tell me exactly what happened" Sam insisted as he set the mug on the coffee table in front of Cas then sat in an armchair across from him.

"I came home to find this note waiting for me on the kitchen table...I didn't know what to do so I came to you" Cas whimpered pulling out a small piece of folded paper from his pocket and handing it to Sam. The younger Winchester read the note only to be surprised that it really sounded as if Dean wasn't coming back.

Cas I've left so don't come looking for me. I'm sorry.
                                                       Dean

The note was short but it certainly got the point across leading Sam to believe his brother really did more then likely write it. Sam looked sadly up at Cas who was clearly hoping that Sam would say that Dean didn't write the letter or that he was definitely coming back but Sam couldn't do that cause by the tone of the letter his brother wasn't coming back. Cas' eyes filled with tears again then he started to cry once more filling Sam with sorrow for the angel but he didn't know how to comfort him, Gabriel had told Sam about pregnant angels but he hadn't seen one until now. Cas suddenly gave a hard wince before rubbing his belly again causing Sam to furrow his brow in questioning especially when he looked to see that Cas' face was flushed slightly.

"Cas? You okay?" Sam asked the angel

"Yeah, just...a cramp I think" Cas explained only to wince again

"Are you sure? How longs that been happening?" Sam asked curiously

"Since early this morning and it seems to be getting worse, I wonder if the baby's sitting wrong" Cas wondered meanwhile Sam's face went white as a sheet and his eyes grew as wide as saucers.

"Cas, I don't think the baby's sitting wrong, I think your in labor" Sam explained causing Cas to suddenly take notice now.

"Sam, you think I'm...is it possible?" Cas stammered in shock

"We have to get you to the hospital" Sam stated although he wasn't even sure if that were the right decision after all how the hell would he spin this wayward tale. Thankfully at that moment Gabriel's wing beats were heard announcing his arrival into the living area causing Sam to take a deep breath of relief when he turned to see the archangel standing in the doorway.

"Hey Cas, what's up?" Gabe asked cheerily

"Gabriel, no time for pleasantries...Cas is in labor,” Sam explained with clear panic in his voice

"What? Really?" Gabe asked in rapid succession, whipping his head from Sam to Cas who nodded then winced again.

"Gabe, how does an angel give birth? I can't take him to the hospital can I?" Sam asked but he was talking so fast Gabriel had to take a moment to absorb what Sam was babbling about

"No, Sam you can't take him to the hospital...to many questions, here if we can get him upstairs to the guest room then I can help him deliver the baby" Gabriel was surprisingly calm about the whole situation giving out simple yet clear instructions about what Sam should do. Sam nodded then picked Cas up in a bridal sort of style to get him upstairs into the guest bedroom where he laid him on the bed while Gabriel calmly gathered a couple items from the bathroom including a few towels, a bowl of water, and a couple damp cloths before coming along side Cas who was panting heavily now. Sam watched as Gabriel quietly like he'd done this a thousand times before placed a hand on Cas' stomach creating a faint light to glow under it then pulling away once it had faded then placed a cool cloth on Cas' forehead.

"Forgive me for asking but how exactly is this going to work?" Sam asked curiously

"Well I just made it so that Cas here will be able to give birth a little easier" Gabriel began

"Huh?" Sam asked raising a brow to Gabriel

"We're angel's Sammy, light beings that can morph our shape" Gabriel rolled his eyes as if this should be common knowledge for Sam.

"Oh, okay so...are you going to deliver the baby?" Sam asked looking at Gabriel again with a questioning eyebrow lift.

"Of course, not like it's my first time" Gabriel boasted

"What?" Sam asked completely surprised this time

"Yeah, in heaven it's the archangel's duty to assist in the delivery of young angels" Gabriel explained

"Wow, okay...so how long?" Sam asked still slightly absorbing the information given to him

"Not long, Cas is in full blown labor" Gabriel informed Sam

"Okay, I need to make a call" Sam stated as he left the room pulling his cell phone from his pocket then hitting one of the speed dial keys.

"Sam?" Came the gruff voice of Dean on the other end

"Dean, what the hell is wrong with you!" Sam barked having half expected Dean not to pick up but now that he had Sam fully intended on giving his older brother an ear full.

"Hey, whoa! Why are you yelling at me?" Dean asked sound genuinely confused a fact that only made Sam more pissed at him.

"You ass hat! You think you can just screw who ever you like then dump them on the side of the road? Leave all your troubles behind as you drive off in the impala?" Sam yelled over the phone having moved downstairs so Cas wouldn't really hear them.

"What in the name of heaven, hell and purgatory are you talking about Sam?" Dean asked now barking back.

"Cas, you ass! Cas is in labor!" Sam shouted one last time causing silence to spread on the other end of the phone.

"Dean? Dean!" Sam barked after a few minutes

"Sam, did you just say?" Dean seemed to be in shock

"Yeah, you left him this morning and now he's in labor about to have your baby! If you even give a crap!" Sam scoffed and that seemed to get a reaction

"That's enough! I don't know what the hell your going on about but I'll be there in ten minutes, where is he?" Dean appeared to be telling the truth as panic rose in the elder's voice

"My house," Sam barely got the words out before the sound of the Impala's engine roared over the line followed by the line going dead. Sam stared at his phone for a few minutes in confusion before ending the call on his end then heading up to check on Cas.

Hours passed with Cas breathing through the labor pains whimpering now, as they got worse while Sam tried to keep him comfortable along with Gabriel. Sam was startled however when the bedroom door flew open to reveal Dean on the other side covered in mud, grime and sweat.

"De-an?" Cas managed to rasp out

"Cas? Man why didn't you call me?" Dean asked immediately moving to the angel's side

"B-but...I thought...you left...me" Cas panted out as waves of pain shot through him

"I did...to go hunting, I left you a note" Dean informed Cas

Suddenly it clicked in Sam's head what happened, they'd miss understood the letter Dean had left for Cas...he hadn't meant that he'd left Cas for good it meant that he'd left for a hunt. Sam also understood now why the note said “Don’t look for me”, cause he didn't want to put Cas in danger.

"Did you think I meant...Cas, I'd never leave you like that...ever, I love you" Dean said in a gentle tone as he stroked the angel's dark sweat soaked hair.

"I'm sorry...Dean, I...love you...too, ugh!" Cas moaned out, as the pain became excruciating

"Sorry to cut this short guys but it's time" Gabriel stated moving swiftly yet precisely to grab everything he needed then started preparing Cas for the birth.

Twenty minutes later Cas was screaming at the tops of his lungs as Dean held his hand on one side and Sam held his hand on the other.

"Come on Cas, you can do it!" Dean encouraged him

"One more push, Cas!" Gabriel told him

Cas took a deep breath then gave one last hard push before collapsing backwards onto Dean, panting heavily with sweat streaming down his face. Sam began wiping Cas' face off with a cool cloth when the soft cries of a baby filled the room drawing all three of their attentions towards Gabriel who had already swaddled the new born in a sheet then handed it up to Cas who was already reaching for it.

"Congrats Bro, it's a girl" Gabriel stated handing over the infant

"A-a girl? We have a girl?" Dean stammered watching as Cas cradled the new born and leaned back on to Dean.

"Yes we do Dean" Cas replied even though he knew Dean was being rhetorical

Sam gave a soft smile at his brother then watched as Dean wrapped an arm around Cas while gently caressing the tiny cheek of his new baby. The little one cooed a little then opened her big eyes revealing them to be sky blue even more so then Cas' were as she looked up at Dean.

"She’s gorgeous..." Dean trailed off in aw

"Well me and Sam will leave you two alone for a little while, get some rest Cas" Gabe stated gesturing for Sam to follow him outside.

"Of course" Sam agreed following his archangel outside

"Well that was an eventful day" Gabriel chuckled as he made his way into the kitchen with Sam

"Yeah, sure was" Sam sighed heavily

"So...Sam? Um...have you ever thought about us...having kids?" Gabriel asked suddenly

"What? Maybe...why?" Sam asked curiously

"I...um...it was just a question really, what with watching Cas and Dean I was just curious if you would ever want the same thing?" Gabe asked but Sam could tell Gabriel was beating around the bush

"Gabriel, what's going on?" Sam asked causing Gabriel's cheeks to turn red as he averted his gaze from Sam. The tall man moved closer to his archangel until they were mere inches apart before tipping Gabriel's chin up to meet his gaze causing Gabriel to bite his lower lip before responding.

"Sam...I'm...that is...I might be...pregnant" Gabriel finally stammered out. Sam fell silent with a look of shock plastered all over his face continuing to stare down at the smaller man as if his brain were a computer that had been over loaded and needed to reboot.

"I knew it! Your mad aren't..." Gabriel began but was suddenly cut off by Sam's lips pressing to his in a passionate kiss.

"Gabe, of course I'm not mad...I'm thrilled" Sam assured his mate after pulling from the kiss

"Really?" Gabriel asked as if surprised

"Yes, absolutely...I love you, Gabriel" Sam reassured the archangel then pulled him in for another deep, passionate kiss.
