Cas had been asked to work night shift at the gas 'n' sip something he normally didn't do but today he volunteered cause his manager was in a tight spot. Cas had worked previous night shifts and found them quite relaxing as they were normally very quiet not many people meaning he could get things done that normally he didn't have time for during his day time shift. Tonight was no different only a handful of people had come in most getting gas or using the restroom so nothing too difficult to tend to leaving Cas time to do some inventory however as he counted the items along the window shelves he couldn't help but notice a small group of men lingering outside. Giving a shrug though Cas continued cleaning up while taking inventory down but the small group didn't move on instead they seemed to be getting closer to the store with each passing hour making Cas slightly suspicious however with out his angel abilities he opted to simply let it go. Finally finished his main inventory Cas moved behind the counter to do a quick check there, dragging a step ladder over to get to the higher shelves just as the bell over the door chimed indicating that there were new customers coming in. Cas glanced over his shoulder to see it was the 3 men that had been lingering outside for the past couple hours making him a little nervous but nonetheless he gave a nod of acknowledgement to the group then returned to his inventory count. A couple minutes past with just the steady sound of the groups footsteps radiating through the store but when Cas finished his count then turned around the 3 men were standing at the counter with guns pointed right at him. Cas' mind raced as he froze not sure what to do after all there were three of them against only him meaning he couldn't call the cops nor grab the guns, if there was ever a time he wished he had his angelic abilities it was now.

"Give us all the money in the register!" The first man barked in the center of the group

"Make it quick!" The one to the right barked next

"Okay, okay just calm down..." Cas encouraged as he slowly stepped off the ladder then made his way to the register. Cas opened the register then started grabbing the tray to put in the pillowcase that the men tossed at him but while they were slightly distracted he managed to hit the panic button that would contact 911 then continued putting the tray in the bag.

"Good now give it here!" The center man barked again holding out his hand to grab the full sack

"Right" Cas agreed gingerly passing it to him

Little did Cas know that Dean had been heading over to the store to check on him pulling up just as the robbers were about to make a get away? The first man began to freak out upon seeing the impala pull up outside thinking it was perhaps an under cover cop but even when Cas assured him that he hadn't called the police the men didn't believe him. Dean could see the scene in the store from the impala causing him to leap from the driver side, running full speed inside but his actions caused the first gunman to panic and shoot a round off at Cas who ducked too late to avoid it. Dean grabbed the guys hand then gave him an elbow to the face making him stumble backwards while Dean quickly turned his newly acquired weapon on the other two shooting one in the knee and the other in the thigh causing them to both go down hard. Dean tossed the gun on the counter top so he could run around behind to check on Cas only now realizing that Cas had been hit, sitting against the back cabinets with his hand pressed to his own side.

"CAS! Cas! Hey..." Dean called out as he knelt beside the exangel

"De-an..." Cas gritted out in pain as blood oozed between his fingers

"Easy buddy, take it easy" Dean encouraged gently pulling Cas' hand from the wound so as to get a better look

Luckily it was just a minor through and through on Cas' side that if treated would be fine so gingerly Dean pulled out a cloth from his back pocket to press carefully to the wound. Cas hissed out in pain but worked with Dean to get to his feet then allowed Dean to help him to the impala where he was sat in the front seat. Dean jumped into the still open driver side, hitting the gas before the cops could arrive, heading directly for the men of letters bunker. Once at the bunker Dean slung Cas' arm around him to help him out of the impala then into the bunker before hauling him into the infirmary making sure to be gentle as he helped Cas onto the table. Carefully Dean managed to get Cas' shirt off luckily it was a button up but the vest he wore for work had to be tugged over his head, still they managed revealing the wound on Cas' side to the air making him squirm in pain while Dean gathered a few supplies to treat it. Cas groaned as Dean pressed a towel to the exit wound behind him to quell the bleeding as he worked on the entrance one, cleaning it then stitching it up before moving to the back doing the same.

"There that should do it" Dean concluded after he was finished

"Thank you, Dean" Cas stated with a small smile

"Hey no big deal, those guys were douches" Dean remarked, returning the smile

"I should be getting back now" Cas stated but winced as he tried to get off the table

"Hey, hey! Take it easy, Cas! You should stay for the night just till that has a chance to settle" Dean urged pressing a hand to Cas' chest while his other hand firmly grasped his shoulder.

"But Dean..." Cas tried to protest

"No, just lay down and get some rest, I'll contact your boss lady to let her know what's going on...sort of..." Dean trailed off

"In other words you'll lie" Cas concluded simply

"Yes," Dean confirmed with a huffed laugh at Cas' bluntness

Cas gave a nod of understanding as he lay back down while Dean went off to make the phone call only to return a few minutes later to find Cas asleep. Dean smiled warmly as he walked over to a cabinet to grab a blanket that he then pulled over the exangel, brushing his dark hair from his face before pulling away. Dean turned to leave the infirmary only to find Sam standing in the doorway making him jump ten feet in the air, grabbing his chest as his heart pounded rapidly.

"Damn it! You scared that crap out of me!" Dean barked in a harsh whisper so as not to wake Cas

"Dean..." The voice was Sam's but by this time Dean could tell it wasn't Sam but Zeke

"Really, Zeke!" Dean whispered again still trying to calm his rapidly beating heart

"Cas can't stay here! I thought that was clear?" Zeke pointed out

"Oh give it a rest Zeke! He's just staying for one night till he's back on his feet!" Dean retorted

"But..." Zeke tried to protest

"NO! He's staying Zeke and that's final!" Dean stared Zeke right in the eyes to get his point across

"Why would you risk me leaving?" Zeke wondered furrowing Sam's brow in confusion

"Cause...Cas means a lot to me...just as much, if not more then Sam" Dean admitted in a low tone

Zeke took a moment to absorb the information given to him but after a couple minutes he finally sighed heavily in defeat.

"Very well, but don't say I didn't warn you" Zeke stated before leaving

Dean looked back at Cas then frowned knowing that after tonight he'd have no choice but to ask Cas to leave again.
